Be forewarned!
This post is a mix of scolding myself--for turning a blind eye to my indulgence in procrastination--of revisiting and scaling back my initial goals and finally pressing on towards the goal line of August 28, 2011, with confidence.
I'm hopeful, that this time I will make progress; and ultimately succeed in my endeavors!
Back in February, I wrote a list of 40 things I wanted to accomplish by the age of 40!
My 40x40 list I called it.
Yes! I wrote that list; and haven't looked at it since!
Now what good does that do? Let me tell ya! It does no good, no good at all.
I mean, come on Michelle! What's your problem?
Get the list out. Look at it. Make a plan; and get it in gear lady!
You're NOT getting any younger you know! Before you know it, 40 will be here!
Alrighty then, I feel better! Nothing like a good tongue lashing to set things straight again.
Onward and upward we go!
I'm looking forward to reaching the age of 40. I won't see it as the dark, dreaded, forboding thing it's made out to be. No, I'll see it as a feather in my cap.
Let me tell ya why.
Because it will mean that I'm here to enjoy another year of my life, my family, my friends and all that this beautiful world has to offer.
Now let me tell ya what that feather will say?
It's gonna say, "I'm 40 and I'm Alive!" God willing, I'll get to place that feather in my cap!
In the meantime, I plan to accomplish some things. I guess what I'm thinking is that it will be even sweeter to celebrate 40 years on earth, with some accomplishments under my belt.
I'm convinced you can't accomplish anything without setting goals; and you definitely can't accomplish your goals by putting them on a shelf to collect dust.
Figuratively speaking that is!
Okay, August has come and gone; and I'm officially 39 now! What does that mean exactly?
Well, it means A Re-Evaluation is called for. Especially since I no longer have 1 year and 7 months, but exactly 11 months and 15 days in which to put these 40 things to bed!
But first, I need to re-evaluate all 40 things and scale them back a bit. I was a little to ambitious to start with.
The worst thing you can do, in my opinion, is set yourself up for failure. Which I most certainly did!
So with that, I need a moment to revise my list.
BRB . . .
(For those unfamiliar with chat/text terms,
that means Be Right Back)
Hmm . . .
Hmm . . .
To Be Continued in A Re-Evaluation: Part 2 . . .

Re-evaluation is a good thing. And definitely don't set yourself up for failure.
ReplyDeleteJust remember, too, that anything you don't hit by 40 can be added to your 50X50 right after your 40th birthday party! That's my plan.
Looking forward to seeing your revised list.
That's a great plan!
ReplyDeleteNo failures, only successes and that will just give me something to do while I walk this journey towards 50!
Getting ready to do my revisions!
