My Favorite Tossed Salad

What makes a delicious salad?  I'm sure the answers to this question are as vast as the stars in the sky.

Lately I've been on a salad kick.  It doesn't happen very often.  So when it does, I thank my lucky stars that I'm hankering for something healthy; and what could be healthier than a big O' bowl of veggies!

It's so rare that I don't reach for sweets or salty treats, that salad kicks are a welcomed change.  One my body will thank me for someday.  I need to stick to this and maybe drop a couple, twenty, forty, sixty pounds.

Here's what you'll need to make my favorite tossed salad:

*  Romaine Lettuce
*  Roma Tomatoes or Grape Tomatoes or Cherry Tomatoes (sliced)
*  Red Onion (diced tiny)
*  Cucumber (lots of cucumber)
*  SOMETIMES:  Green Pepper, Celery and Radish
*  Colby-Jack or Cheddar Cheese (shredded or cubed)
*  Capocollo Italian Spicy Ham or Genoa Salami (diced or cubed)
*  Peperoncinis (seeded and diced)
*  Garlic Croutons
*  Spicy Ranch Dressing

Side Note:  My sister-in-law, Janette, makes the BEST tossed salad on the planet!  Planet, Janette, ha ha that rhymes!

I would have provided a picture to go along with my little salad post, but I was so hungry--and it looked so good--that I gobbled it up before the thought struck me.  So sorry.  Maybe next time. . . which will probably be tomorrow!
