If Only . . .

I'm going to weigh in on the Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, Tonight Show and $45 million drama!

First off, I have never cared for the late show since Jay Leno took over. I'm not a Jay fan nor a Conan fan, not at all. I did, however, watch the Tonight Show when Johnny Carson hosted it. It was normal for my parents and grandparents to have the show on, they never missed an episode.

Secondly, I think Jay Leno could retire and nobody would miss him!

Thirdly, I think NBC is paying Conan O'Brien entirely too much money, the tune of $45 million dollars, to leave the show so ex-host Jay Leno can come back. Hmm. . .

(A side note. I did not like Charlie Weiss and was glad to see him go. But I couldn't believe the financial cost involved! So unbelievable and astronomical to me!)

Lastly, I look at the disaster in Haiti and see the need for so many resources, supplies and financial assistance. Then I think, where are the funds needed to help those impoverished people, some of whom are U.S. Citizens, going to come from. I can't help but ponder how absurd it is for a television host to be paid $45 million just to leave a show, especially in light of the HUGE need in Haiti. It sickens me!

My opinion, which isn't worth much I know. Jay, Conan and NBC individually or combined already have more than any one person or company could ever dream of spending in a lifetime. Why not spend the $45 million dollars on aid for the battered country of Haiti and the Haitian people? I think that would be a far better way of spending that sum of money!

I know this isn't feasible, well okay it is, but it will never happen. No matter how I try, I just can't wrap my mind around such unbalanced things. Such vastly different circumstances. It seems so disproportionate.

If only money grew on trees. I think my tree would always be empty, because I would pick it and spend it to help people.

I'd love to have an orchard full of money trees. Imagine the aid that could be provided!

Someday, I hope I have my finances handled well enough to include more aid to those in need. Then maybe, when I read about such things as $45 million dollars to cancel a contract it won't bother me so very much! Nah, it'll still bother me!

One of my favorite musicians, James Taylor, is giving a concert to benefit the Haitian people. He will match dollar for dollar the ticket sales to help Haiti. Way to go Mr. Taylor, I knew I loved ya!
