Hello again! It's Thrifty Thursday, the time of the week when I get to play Show & Tell.
I didn't have any money to go thrifting or garage saling this week. We're trimming the fat off our budget and I'm afraid--at the present--funding for my thrifting has been cut. Everything pictured here, was purchased several months ago.
Aren't these character glasses Smurftastic! There's Papa Smurf, Hefty Smurf and a whole crew of Smurfs chasing after Smurfette. Of course you can't see Smurfette, she's on the other side of the glass. I picked these Smurftacular glasses up at a garage sale for a $1.00 for all three. I watched the Smurfs faithfully when I was a kid!
I have ALWAYS been a fan of Alvin & The Chipmunks, Holly Hobbie and Peanuts. I could NOT pass up these character glasses when I found them. The Alvin & The Chipmunks glass is perfect. Why? Because it has Theodore on it and of course, being that he's chubby and all, he is my FAVORITE chipmunk of them all.
I picked up the Holly Hobbie glass at a garage sale for .25 cents, the Chipmunk and Peanuts glasses I found at the Goodwill for .50 cents each.
We've been using these character glasses for a few months now and everyone seems to have their favorite!
You can never have too many roosters, of the ceramic kind. Unlike the REAL kind! Too many roosters in the hen house can be a problem. I picked this handsome fellow up at a garage sale for $1.00.
I never realized I am a salt & pepper shaker collector, until I took an inventory. They say you have a collection if you have 3 or more of something. Well, I do! This ceramic pear and apple salt & pepper shaker set was purchased at the Goodwill for .25 cents each.
This little guy is the ONLY kind of mouse I like in my kitchen. He is one half of a salt & pepper shaker set by Enesco. I am on the search for his mate. Isn't he cute!
A few dainty little apple pieces for the kitchen. I think I have a total of .75 cents in all. Garage sale finds, gotta love 'em!
Mother Goose, or Jemima Puddle Duck, so pretty. I picked her up at a garage sale for $1.00.
Another of these bunny figurines. I'm becoming very interested in them. I've been looking them up ebay and there are LOTS of different ones. They're all so adorable. Found this one at the Goodwill for $1.00.
This one has its original tag. I've noticed loads of handmade copies in the Goodwill stores. I think they must have made ceramic molds and sold them to ceramics stores. This pattern, in particular, must have been very popular.
Last but not least, is this little guy. My husband and the boys think he is SO ugly and can't believe I paid $1.00 to bring him home. I fell in love with his homely little mug and couldn't leave him behind.
Well, that does it for another Thrifty Thursday. Thank you for stopping by!

Michelle, your husband and boys are very, very wise. That baby is UGLY – and SCARY – and I'll offer you two dollars to bring him back :-) but the Smurf classes – brilliant – and the Holly Hobby glass - I know some women who would pay big bucks for that. I found myself smiling and shaking my head the whole time I read this. I hearted it. Thank you. God bless and keep you and your very wise men.
ReplyDeleteLove those glasses! The Chipmunks and Snoopy are my personal favorites, although who doesn't smile when they see a Smurf!
