I'm so glad that I took pictures of the poppy patch this year. You can see the photos HERE and HERE.
Almost as quickly as they bloomed, they're gone. Poppies are so lovely while they last, but they never last long. The rain stripped most of them of their papery petals and the wind made off with the rest.
Now, as with every year, I'm trying to figure out how to harvest the seeds to transplant some. When I do a search, all the internet brings up is drug making!
I've tried digging them up and planting them, but that NEVER works. They always die. They must have to be planted from seed, I know that much. But how to harvest the abundance of seeds out there, is what I don't know.
I have family and friends that would like a start of the poppies and I have yet to be successful.
If any of my lovely readers knows how to harvest poppy seeds for transplanting, please leave me a comment on how. Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
It's a beautiful Saturday, I'm signing off to go enjoy it.
Have a lovely day everyone!

When I'm not sure how to harvest the seeds, I take the whole flower head (or in this case, what's left of it) and let it dry out - then when it's planting time, I just plant the whole thing. It seems to work for most plants. Good luck!
