Welcome to my blog, where every Thursday I give my readers a peek into my thrifting addiction.
It's yard sale season and I've been out and about looking for deals on the things I consider to be treasures. Which, as you'll soon find out, is a WHOLE lot of things!
This week's treasures were found over the last 3 weeks. All of these items were found at garage sales around my hometown.
Here's this week's treasures:
I love this darling Hazel Atlas iced tea decanter. I picked it up at a yard sale in Niles, MI for just $2.00. I thought it was a pretty good price.
The pattern fits right in with my style and I can't wait to use it. It's all washed, sterilized and ready for tea!
There's something special about blown glass. Whenever I see anything made of blown glass, I'm drawn to it. Much like everything that I love to collect. I have several of these, in cobalt blue, in an assortment of sizes.
By now you all know that I'm a fan of cat figurines. I have a whole collection that I plan to share when I start my series of "collections" posts. This happy little green eyed kitty has a lot of character, don't you think?
I loved this pretty cobalt blue kitty cat, too. He has a sweet face and I love the crockery look he has.
I'm not really sure what this is, but I think it is a trinket box. I thought it was cute for just .50 cents. The mouse and daisy are a lid and it is the tiniest little trinket box I've ever seen. I have no idea what to put in it. But it's darling.
Back in my Thrifty Thursday, #13 post, I shared a set of cast iron Amish children riding in a little red wagon.
At a neighborhood garage sale, I found their parents; and good thing too! They're awfully small to be riding around in a wagon, to strange people's houses, all by themselves.
This happy couple is also cast iron and I only paid $1.00 for the pair.
They've had a nice family reunion in my kitchen.
I always seem to have to buy something wooden. I loved these wooden scissors and since the pair I used to have were broken I was very pleased to replace them with this set.
I really like that they open and close, but of course they don't really cut anything.
I really like aprons! This one was .50 cents and it fits my large frame. It is a pull over your head type, with ties on each side. It's really, really comfortable.
Finally, a second apron. This one made me think of the movie The Wilderness Family. In that movie the wife/mother wears a patchwork skirt that is similar to this apron. It was also .50 cents and like the other one, fits me! Though it is a little long.
Well, that does it for this week's Thrifty Thursday post!
Each week I link up with:
Sophie, over at Her Library Adventures on Sunday, for:
Selena, over at Apron Thrift Girl on Monday, for:
AND . . .
Lyssa, over at Born-Again Crafter on Thursdays, for:
Until next week, Happy Thrifting!

What a great lot of bits and pieces!
ReplyDeleteJust $0.50 per apron...what a great deal (I especially like that first one)! And your tea decanter is lovely. I usually see them made by Pyrex, never Hazel Atlas. My favorite part about it is that lovely blue color. Thanks for sharing your finds!
