Flirting with disaster!
This is a tale befitting a Monday. . . for sure!
I got up in my usual fashion, hair a mus and foggy eyes. Stumbled around in the kitchen for a cereal bowl and poured myself a nice helping of Sugar Bears.
As I sat and peacefully ate my cereal, I glanced over at the counter noticing the dishes yet to be washed from the night before.
Sitting back down to my bowl of cereal, I became agitated by the squealing sound of my faucet. I've been waiting on my husband to fix it for some time now and it's getting on my nerves!
In an effort to quiet it, I turned it down to a trickle. Then, I finished my bowl of cereal and place the bowl in the sink. Seeing that it wasn't quite full, I stepped away.
Upon stepping away from the sink--as it was FILLING up with water--I went to my trusty laptop to take a peek at this week's bloggy fodder.
I found myself lost in Thrift Share posts for a very, very long time. I'm not quite sure what triggered the PANIC button, but it was finally triggered.
I realized I had completely forgotten about filling the sink with hot soapy water! It had been trickling for at least an hour now.
Rushing to the sink, certain I was going to be met with a watery mess, I found the water level flirting with disaster, as it spilled over the divider between the two sides of the sink.
Thank goodness it hadn't quite made it over the countertop edges, WHEW!
I had remembered JUST in the nick of time, thus preventing a moist mess! I breathed a big sigh of relief.
I guess, on the brighter side of things, had it overflowed the floors might have received a mopping. But, since it hadn't, who needs to mop on such a glorious Monday morning!
Dishes are now done and I'm off to enjoy the day!

It's so easily done!! I often manage it when I'm making a cup of tea or in the middle of a book yet still never learn!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you didn't end up with a swimming pool of a kitchen :-)
Jem xXx
Oh, Michelle, this is soooo something I would do. So glad it wasn't a disaster you returned to in the kitchen. :)
