5 Minute Friday: When Seasons Change

As often as I can, I like to link up with The Gypsy Mama for her 5 Minute Friday writing prompt.  If you've never participated you might want to give it a try.

All there is to it is:  Write for 5 minutes--no editing please--and post it.  Then link up and spread the love by reading some of the other posts.  But be sure to leave an encouraging comment to let them know you were there.

Here's this week's 5 Minute Friday prompt:

When seasons change. . .

GO:

I love living where the seasons change:  spring, summer, fall and winter.  I love them all.  There are firsts for each season that I always anticipate.  The first buds and blossoms of spring, along with the abundance of fragrance in the air.  Or the first beautiful summer flowers, warm sunny day or that first day at the beach with the warmth of the sand beneath your feet.  In fall I love the trees tinged with vibrant oranges, reds and yellows.  The sound of the leaves crunching beneath my feet.  In winter its going outside and experiencing the excitement of seeing your breath in the air.  The anticipation of the first snowflakes.  There's just something so magical about them.

When seasons change it doesn't just have to do with the weather.  We go through seasons in life.  The spring is like our birthday and those first few years we are budding and preparing to bloom.  The summer is like our adolescent stage.  Some of us bloom early some of us a little late.  Fall is like our middle aged years when we are done with college, busy working, raising a family and enjoying all that life has to offer.  Then there is winter.  Winter can come at any time during our life.  Not just at the end of it.  We may experience a cooling down of relationships, love or any aspect of our lives.  Then we have to find our way back to the spring, summer or fall again.

DING!  Times up. . .

STOP.

Okay, here is my disclaimer.  This post may be boring and it may not flow very well.  In fact, it might even seem a bit choppy.

I am a compulsive editor, re-writer and just OCD when it comes to re-thinking what I write.  I have read this post and I'm NOT happy with it.  But I am following the rules and posting it as is.  I want SO badly to edit it and re-work the thoughts that came out.
