An Enchanting Trade

Good afternoon friends.

Pleasant surprises awaited me; and I was enchanted by the beauty of creativity.

Last week I wrote about a thrifty trade--you can read about it HERE--that I was making with Rachael, from Joyful Treasure Hunting.   She wrote about it too.  Be sure to visit her blog and read her post HERE.

We were both very excited to receive our traded treasures!  The best part of the trade was the mystery behind it.  We had agreed that we wouldn't know what the other was sending.

That made it very, very fun!

This afternoon my traded treasure box arrived via UPS.  I was so happy to see its arrival.  It had the loveliest floral label on the front, so I decided to take my pictures outside in the poppy patch.

When I opened my box, this was the first thing I saw.  Isn't it beautiful?  It was the loveliest, daintiest little handmade greeting card you ever did see.  The beauty of the package made me keenly aware of the thought that went into it.  That in itself was a gift.

Wouldn't you agree that that is the cutest greeting card ever?  I mean, really!  How cute is that?  It's just lovely!  I love how she used the Scrabble pieces to spell out the word "Hi," and the colors are so pretty.  It was very sweet and there was an equally sweet note inside.

Rachael, you are a very creative and extremely thoughtful person!  I am impressed, very impressed!

So much thought went into my package and a lot of attention to detail.  The sage green, white linen and golden yellow colors she chose, are the exact colors I've decorated our living room with.  I plan to incorporate the beautiful sage green ribbon into my decorating; and the vintage metal tissue box will have a special place in our living room.

I found it fascinating that when she said, "Why not do one (a trade) that would fit inside a tissue box?" she literally meant a tissue box.  I love that idea, almost as much as the beautiful tissue box itself!  It has the loveliest golden yellow stripe around it and it is a beautiful linen white.

It is, quite simply, PERFECT!

I'll let you all in on a secret that Rachael didn't know.  I love any kind of vintage metal box.

Inside that beautiful tissue box were several lovely treasures.  Lets take an inventory, shall we.

There was a dainty cream colored pitcher (she knew I loved pitchers), an adorable set of salt & pepper shakers, a floral tin tray, three darling--I mean, totally adorable--photo frames with ribbons attached, clothes pins to separate the photo frames as they hang from the twine, a spool of fancy lacy ribbon, a romantic handmade greeting card and a letter block and shell.

The letter block was an "M" and when you put it in front of the shell you have my name:  Michelle.

LOVE this!  Love, love, love, love, LOVE it.

It was so thoughtful and SO creative!  It's one of my favorite things in my treasure box.

Here you can see the "M" and the shell a bit better, as well as all the other lovely treasures.

I can't wait to find the perfect spot to hang this trio of vintage photo frames.  The cream colored ribbons were just the right touch.  They're going to look so nice against our sage green walls.

I love all of my tissue box treasures, "Thank you, so very much, Rachael!"

I thoroughly enjoyed this trade experience and I would definitely consider doing another.  If you enjoy surprises and collecting treasures, you might want to consider a trade with a fellow blogger too.  I can guarantee it will be a pleasant experience.

Thank you again, Rachael!
