Meet my friend the Toulouse Goose of Merrifield Park.
I was quite taken by this feisty gray goose, with his bright reddish orange bill and bold personality.
He was a goose to be reckoned with, of that I'm sure. No one dare take the bread from his area!
Do not be fooled by his placid, handsome appearance.
Behind this handsome exterior, lies the heart of a warrior.
He was full of moxie and a greedy gus.
Here he is, poised to grab every yeasty morsel {as viciously as necessary}.
The other geese hadn't a chance against his might.
Mighty moxie, persistence and curiosity.
Bobbing for every last, sinking bite of bread.

These are beautiful pictures! Stingy shouldn't be flattering, but he sure is adorable! I've always loved feeding the geese and ducks, it always makes me smile (as did your pics). :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pics...love the texture of the feathers {and the last one is my favorite} Lisa
ReplyDeleteThank you for the compliments on my photos! I love this goose, even though he was a bit mean-spirited. I agree Jacqueline, it makes me smile too. Each one has a different disposition when they are retrieving and eating the tossed bread crumbs. It's so fun to watch. Lisa, he was kicking his webbed feet feverishly to set that last piece of bread!
