I love plastic fruit, as you learned last Thursday. This week I acquired a new plastic apple and 3 lemons, along with this lovely hand carved wooden leaf bowl. LOVE!
I love apples and this set of 4 apple dishes fit right into my collection. I had to have the little floral Pyrex dish too. Especially at the unbelievably good price of just .50 cents.
I'm just starting to get into salt & pepper shakers. I have more than I realized. This brown pottery squirrel and acorn is a new favorite.
Here is another salt & pepper set, made in Korea, they are a very fragile ceramic.
I love things made out of natural materials. This tea cup and saucer is made out of sliced walnut shells. Very unique and I'm fascinated by it.
A little closer view of the saucer. I love the shadow that it cast on the vintage tablecloth.
SO neat - O! I'd love to see how they sliced that shell without it breaking into a million little pieces.
Again, here is a cross made out of sliced walnut shells. LOVE!
I am definitely into wrought iron pieces. I have several things, that I'll share with you later.
I loved these painted wooden trinket boxes. I thought they were so beautiful.
The inside of each box. The larger of the two was also painted on the inside. Very nice!
This is my little paper mache choir boy. I love these type of figures and have several Christmas angels like this, as well.
Lastly, I picked up a frame at my local Goodwill, for $1.50, that had these beautiful large greeting cards in it. I re-donated the frame, as it was too modern, but kept the lovely greeting cards. I have no idea what I'll do with them. I just love them.

The plastic fruit looks so real! I really like the wooden bowl, so few around here are in such good condition at the thrift shops. Great finds!
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, thank you h. rae. That was so nice of you to say. I really am enjoying everything I see and read at your blog. I never dreamed back in 2009, that I would enjoy blogging so very much! Thank you Halima, I love that silly plastic fruit. It does look pretty good, almost so good that I could pick up the apple and take a big, juicy bite!
ReplyDeleteWow - some excellent finds. The little apple dishes are lovely. I am amazed at the walnut bowl too - who would have thunk it?!
ReplyDeletei could grow into salt&pepper shakers! as a matter of fact, i already own too many! the squirrel and nut set is just to die for.

ReplyDeleteThank you Vic and thanks for popping over to my blog. woolf, I had another set of the squirrel and nut salt/pepper shakers in a beautiful blue/green same style. I had given them to the librarian that collect salt & pepper shakers. I loved them so much and was so sad to part with them that I began hunting for a set of my own. Low and behold, the Goodwill scored me a set in brown. I have my eyes out for the green/blue though, it was a lovely set. Thanks for visiting.
ReplyDeleteI love those squirrel / nut shakers, and the wooden leaf bowl too (we have a pineapple shaped one!)
ReplyDeleteThe apple dishes are just so cute and pretty. Also think I can safely say i have never seen anything quite like the walnut cup and saucer before!! How very unusual. x
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting and commenting on my blog! You found some fun stuff -- that walnut art is crazy! I wonder if it's folk art? I like the squirrel and nut S&P, too!
